Biography
Mr. Newton was twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize. He has received a fellowship from the Illinois Arts Council and a Lannan Fellowship from the Folger Shakespeare Library. He has won Amaranth's Editor's Choice Award and been a finalist for the Charles Johnson Award in Poetry and the Virginia Down's Poetry Prize.
Scholarship
Mr. Newton's most recent creative and scholarly works has appeared in Pleiades, Wisconsin Review, Lowell Review, Crab Orchard Review, Phoebe, and the Asian Pacific American Journal. He is currently completing a poetry manuscript Everything Broken and a play entitled Hana.
Service
Mr. Newton serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Collegiate English. He is the faculty advisor for Broadside Magazine.
