$13,000 to $15,000 per year up to four years
Academic scholarships are awarded after an assessment of academic performance and records of leadership and service in schools and communities. Some scholarships, such as the Caterpillar and Legacy Scholarships, may be added to these values creating combined scholarship awards totaling up to $19,000.
These scholarships benefit the dependent children of Caterpillar employees, retirees, and deceased employees. Scholarship amounts are determined by Bradley's Office of Financial Assistance and range up to $1,500. Recipients must be attending Bradley as full-time undergraduate students. Applications must be submitted for each academic year. To be assured of full consideration, it is recommended that you submit your application no later than March 1.
This $1,500 scholarship is automatically awarded to children, step-children and grandchildren of Bradley graduates. Eligibility is determined at the time of application for admission. Full-time status is required and recipients must remain in good academic standing for renewal. The Legacy Scholarship requires full-time attendance (12 or more hours per semester) and can be applied toward tuition only.
Awards up to $4,000 per year are available to students majoring in art, theatre and music or participating in competitive speech (Forensics). Awards up to $500 are also available to non-music majors selected for one of our many instrumental and vocal performance groups. Consideration for fine or performing arts recognition awards requires an audition or submission of a portfolio.
A combination of factors are considered when awarding a student grants. They are based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results and the student's academic performance. Awards vary and can change from year-to-year. This grant assistance could be funded by a variety of sources, state grants (such as the Illinois MAP Grant) and federal grants (such as the PELL Grant). Grant assistance requires a 2.0 GPA for renewal.
At Bradley, federal loan recipients borrow directly from the federal government. These low-interest loans are deferred until after graduation as long as students maintain at least half-time enrollment.
Students with limited family resources as determined by the results of the FAFSA are provided this federally-funded opportunity to earn "spending money" through part-time, on-campus employment. Students typically work 8 to 10 hours per week at minimum wage earning about $1500 per year. Paychecks are issued bi-weekly.
Students wishing to work who are not eligible for College Work Study are able to find other on-campus employment opportunities.
