Privacy and Data Collection
Privacy, Security, and Data Collection
This section covers information on data collection and compliance for Digitally Connected Campus users, which is intended to supplement and provide details related to the Equipment Loan and Usage Agreement. This section covers what items Bradley University and partner organizations are responsible for and how each will meet their responsibilities.
Bradley University is dedicated to safeguarding the privacy and data of its community members.
If you are using an iPad as part of the program, it is essential for you to be informed about relevant data privacy practices and compliance policies:
Bradley University Privacy Policy:
The DCC Program abides by the privacy policies set forth by Bradley University. We are committed to ensuring that your personal and private data remains protected. https://www.bradley.edu/legal/privacy/
Data Collection for Device Management and Recovery:
To ensure the operation and security of the devices under the program, we may collect data, including potentially private information. This is required for tasks such as updating software, monitoring available storage and, if necessary, aiding in the recovery of lost or stolen devices. When needing to recover a device, it will be put in “Lost Mode,” after which the exact location of the device will be available to Bradley University to aid in the recovery of the device. When the device is placed in Lost Mode, the device is not usable for other purposes.
Program Effectiveness:
Data collection is vital to gauge the impact and success of the program. We collect this information to evaluate the effectiveness of the program as a whole, as well as its segments, on an aggregate level. Individual users will not be personally identified in our evaluations. Information collected includes the following, which may change from time to time: device check-in, Bradley distributed application usage, and application storage usage. Only if a device is reported stolen or lost, and placed in Lost Mode, will we collect the device location information, unless you specifically choose to opt-in to share this
information via an application installed on the device.
Compliance with Policies and Partner Agreements:
Beyond the stipulations provided in Bradley University's Privacy Policy and applicable handbook(s), the Student Code of Conduct and Faculty and Staff Handbooks, which you are required to comply with, users of the devices should also be aware that compliance with our partners' privacy and data collection policies is required.
