Dear Bradley Campus Community:
A crime has occurred in the Bradley University campus area and we want you to be informed so you can take appropriate precautions. Alerts, such as this, are issued for incidents that have already occurred but do not require immediate action by recipients.
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Bradley University Police and Peoria Police responded to a reported aggravated assault that had just occurred in the Geisert Parking Lot, located at 911 N. Duryea Place.
The victim, who is not affiliated with Bradley University, had just arrived in a vehicle and was confronted by the suspect who was also in a vehicle. An argument about driving ensued and then the suspect briefly revealed a firearm. The suspect did not point the firearm at the victim. The suspect then re-entered his vehicle and left the area.
The suspect was the front passenger in a silver sedan. The silver sedan was last seen northbound on N. University Street away from campus.
This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no imminent threat to campus.

Dear Bradley Campus Community:

At approximately 8:28 a.m., Bradley University Police and Peoria Police responded to a report of a robbery of a business in the 400 block of N. Western Avenue, near of the intersection of W. Callender Avenue and N. Western Avenue. This is approximately seven blocks west of N. University Street and five blocks south of W. Main Street.
One suspect entered a business, implied a weapon and obtained property. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries. The suspect fled on foot eastbound in the alleyway between W. Callender Avenue and W. Ayres Avenue.
The suspect was described as an older male, about 6'3" tall, wearing a black ballcap, a white surgical mask, a dark green jacket, dark pants, and white tennis shoes. Information about the race or ethnicity of alleged suspects is provided only to aid detailed descriptions that include physical stature, clothing or unusual characteristics. Racial descriptions do not, by themselves, offer a meaningful picture of an individual's appearance.

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, at approximately 11:42 p.m., Bradley University Police and Peoria Police responded to a report of a single shot fired near the 1000 block of N. Orange Street, near the intersection of N. Orange Street and W. Russell Street. This is approximately five blocks east of N. University Street and one block north of W. Main Street.
No injuries or property damage have been reported. Evidence was located to indicate a shot was fired. No suspect information is available. There is no imminent threat to campus.

UPDATE
We have an update to a previous Community Advisory Alert concerning a robbery that occurred near the Bradley campus May 10, approximately five blocks west of N. University Street and three blocks south of W. Main Street.
During the course of the investigation into this incident, BUPD officers identified ten juvenile suspects. Each juvenile has now been arrested and released to a parent or guardian. No additional suspects are being sought. The incident occurred during a basketball game at an off campus playground near the intersection of W. Fredonia Avenue and N. Glenwood Avenue.
None of the people involved are affiliated with Bradley University. Due to the age of the suspects, no additional suspect information will be released. BUPD thanks the Peoria Public Schools Department of School Safety for their assistance.
